"For the last seven years, Ruth Anderson has been an integral member of the faculty of the Volunteers of America's Spiritual Development Institute, held annually at Duke Divinity School. She also presents at our annual national conference. Her message never fails to engage and inspire participants.

I will never forget Ruth's very first presentation. She had been recommended by the Potter's House in Washington, DC. She was to speak on servant leadership to an widely ecumenical and theologically diverse group. I was sure one extreme or the other would object. To my astonishment, when I read the evaluations, every single person felt she had touched their hearts and spoken directly to them.

Ruth's obvious passion for her work makes her a remarkably effective spokesperson for servant leadership as an integration of faith values and service. She personally demonstrates how to take one's own gifts and put them to the right use in God's work."
